Ms. Victoire INGABIRE on her 37th in maximum Prison: “she is our source of courage and strength”.
Today FDU INKINGI party members visited party Chair Ms. Victoire INGABIRE in Kigali maximum prison. She remains a symbol of a national struggle, a freedom icon and a democracy martyr. She encouraged the visiting colleagues and members in the following terms: "this place is like hell, and there is no relief in hell. But only our determination, courage and faith help the martyrs to endure extreme moments. My incarceration should strengthen the fire of hope for a lasting solution in Rwanda. This is part of the non-violent struggle for democracy and the Prison is one of dictators' favourite weapons". Her security detail inside the prison seems more impressing and two female inmates have been relaying each other in her cell.
The Prosecution is not yet ready for the trial. The intimidation is still going on towards party members inside Rwanda and house staff. Almost every staff has been blackmailed either to support the prosecution evidence, either to face the security machinery as enemies of the state. No one was spared: private secretaries, kitchen staff, gardeners and watchmen. Some party members have been arrested in different parts of the country. The key witness, the so called "Major" Vital UWUMUREMYI, paraded by the prosecution has never been a member of the former Rwandan army before the genocide. It is only in exile in the DRC, when he enrolled for officer's training course and according to our records until his repatriation in February 2009, he has never been given the rank of "Major", either in the rebellion, either in the ruling Rwandan Defence Forces. He was promoted to this rank by some propaganda for the purpose of this politically motivated trial. We officially challenge the government to substantiate with official army records his military training in Rwanda before or after the genocide.
The reactions of the international community to the detention of our party leader are strong and powerful signals to the Rwandan people and Africans in terms of knowing whether there are genuine friends of Rwanda and in which circumstances they can rely on them. We are very grateful for the efforts carried on and by the work being done by some countries for the unconditional release of Ms. Victoire INGABIRE.

PRESS RELEASE DEBATE CONFERENCE ON THE SITUATION OF THE FDU INKINGI PARTY IN RWANDA, NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION AND THE FUTURE OF THE DRC UNITED NATIONS MAPPING REPORT
On November 20, 2010 the FDU-INKINGI Support Committee organized an open debate- conference devoted to the following topics: evaluation of the 10 month-presence of the party in Rwanda and steps to strengthen the support for the party and its leadership; national unity and reconciliation; the future of the UN mapping report on war crimes and crimes against humanity or genocide crimes committed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Members of the Support Committee expressed serious concerns over the stations of the cross undergone by the FDU-INKINGI and its Chair, Ms. Victoire INGABIRE, since her return on January16, 2010, to register the party and ensure its implementation in the country. They recalled and condemned the tortures inflicted to Ms. Victoire INGABIRE UMUHOZA by General Paul Kagame's dictatorship: defamation, intimidation, harassment, physical and moral torture, her house arrest for more than six months and her imprisonment in inhumane conditions since October 14, 2010.
Despite all those barricades on the road to democracy, Ms. Victoire INGABIRE and her team managed to peacefully expose the true nature of the regime: a dictatorship dominated by the RPF state party, a one man's rule, jailing and eliminating physically, if necessary, political opponents and critical journalists. We are facing a regime that has crippled both the judiciary and the legislative, which has sealed off the political space and has stifled the civil society and especially the media.
Members of the Support Committee urge Rwandans loving democratic values to remain engaged and not give in before these systematic persecutions and imprisonments of opposition leaders, namely Ms. Victoire INGABIRE, Mr. Bernard NTAGANDA and Mr. Déo MUSHAYIDI. The time for change has come. Our fight is democratic and will overcome the regime by all non violent means.
Concerning unity and reconciliation, the Support Committee is convinced of the richness brought by the ethnic, regional and social diversity of the Rwandan people. It continues to believe that, given the gravity of crimes against humanity, only a fair trial can serve as a solid foundation for national cohesion. Reconciliation will be effective and will only be meaningful when it will involve all Rwandans, starting with the reconciliation between victims, held hostage today by extremists from both ethnic groups. Reconciliation will be possible when all parties will respect the victims' rights to grieve.
Regarding the recent UN Mapping Report on war crimes and crimes against humanity or genocide crimes committed in the DRC mainly by the Rwandan Patriotic Army on the Hutu refugees and Congolese people, the Support Committee urges the UN to do everything possible to create an urgent ad hoc international tribunal to try such crimes. Subsequent amendments to the status and competency of the already existing International Criminal Court in The Hagues (ICC) and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) in Arusha could be an option.
All the speakers renewed their admiration, sympathy and solidarity to the Netherlands based family of Ms. Victoire INGABIRE, the FDU-INKINGI Chair.

PRESS RELEASE No. 020/P.S. IMB/010
After a series of arrests of political opponents including the Founder and President of the Social Party IMBERAKURI Me Bernard NTAGANDA, it was confirmed that the Kigali regime began to fabricate false accusations against Me NTAGANDA Bernard. For these reasons, the Social Party IMBERAKURI would like to bring to the attention of the Rwandan people, friends of Rwanda in general and Imberakuri in particular, the followings:
ARTICLE 1: The Kigali regime should now bury the hatchet instead of excelling in the macabre art of manufacturing false charges against his political opponents. These despicable acts have just been confirmed by the release of additional charges Me Bernard NTAGANDA was guilty of during his incarceration at the Central Prison of Kigali (1930).
ARTICLE 2 According to police statements made to Me Bernard NTAGANDA during his harsh interrogations under the direction of Inspector of Police Eric on November 3, 2010, police expressed its intention to charge Me Bernard NTAGANDA for the additional following counts: 1. Sectarianism within the prison; 2. Insult and humiliation of the higher authorities of the country including the President of the Republic 3. Creation of an army of Hutus and conducting political activities inside the prison.
ARTICLE 3: After Madam Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza, police is preparing to press false charges against Me Bernard NTAGANDA and would use for this purpose appointed false witnesses named Corporals KAMASHINI, RUGENDO and BAGIRA ANASTASE, all inmates at Central Prison of Kigali 1930. Despite all these false charges trumped up by the Kigali regime led by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), the Social Party IMBERAKURI, although it is concerned about these outrageous actions, will never give up the struggle, and as we constantly recalled, "The fact that Me Bernard NTAGANDA is incarcerated does not mean that his ideals have been buried. Take each day as it comes”. It should be noted that the fabrication of false evidences against our leader is strong evidence that the RPF is afraid of our Party, Social Party IMBERAKURI , which reinvigorates our commitment to the struggle.
ARTICLE 4: After five months of incarceration, Me Bernard NTAGANDA has not been produced in the court because the Kigali regime lack of solid evidences. Instead, the Kigali regime, led by RPF is busy designing diabolical plan to fabricate false accusations after realizing that the so called crimes that have motivated the arrest of our leader were unfounded. The Kigali regime is flat wrong because instead of us giving up, the Social Party IMBERAKURI expanded its field of action as outlined in our previous press release.
ARTICLE 5: The Social Party IMBERAKURI reiterates its urgent appeal to the international community that it is time to come to the rescue of the Rwandan people before it is too late. Knowingly not rescuing people at risk will now be considered a complicity in the crime.
